Overview:
Under general supervision, the welder/pipe fitter is responsible for assembling and installing piping systems, pipe supports, and hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. Installs pipe for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating and industrial production and processing systems. He is also responsible for welding as it pertains to industrial burners, piping systems ranging from½" to 12" and other fuel oil or steel plate assemblies.
Essential Functions:
The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
· Ability to set up, troubleshoot, and operate CNC Milling and Turning Machines.
· Inspect work completed on CNC Milling and Turning Machines for conformance to specifications using bench gauging.
· Strictly follow Standard Work in all aspects of work including CNC Milling/Turning Machine setup and operation, process verification, product inspection, documentation, and material handling.
· Perform light preventative maintenance tasks on CNC Milling/Turning Machines to maintain machinery performance and prevent machine downtime.
· Reports any safety violation, machining equipment misusage and/or improperly performed work to supervisor, may provide input for action including discipline.
· Ability to work as a team player. Maintains positive, team relationship with co-workers.
· Participate in the operation of and compliance with all safety, hazardous material handling, and disposal requirements in accordance with regulations and company procedures.
· Maintain a clean work environment in full compliance with all internal regulations.
· Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (i.e., shoes, eyewear, gloves, masks, shields, and coats) if needed.
· Comply with all company and safety rules and regulations.
· Complete testing and adjustment of parts, as needed.
· Identify and replace parts, as necessary.
· Other tasks as required.
Experience, Education and Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or Equivalent Education. Skilled Trade Certification, preferred.
· Minimum of two (2) or more years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
· Experience with Haas and/or CNC controls.
· Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
· Ability to adapt, prioritize, multi-task, and remain flexible to changes.
· Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. The pace is multi-task oriented. Accuracy and thoroughness/follow-through are very important.
