Overview:
Under general supervision, the welder/pipe fitter is responsible for assembling and installing piping systems, pipe supports, and hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. Installs pipe for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating and industrial production and processing systems. He is also responsible for welding as it pertains to industrial burners, piping systems ranging from½" to 12" and other fuel oil or steel plate assemblies.
Job Requirements:
• Minimum education requirement is HS graduate or GED.
• Minimum 2-3 years experience in manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Must be capable of interpreting blueprints, fabricating and welding to specifications.
• Must be able to perform job in safe manner and produce a quality product.
• Must successfully complete weld tests, which passes both visual and X-ray testing when needed.
• Must show qualification in welding per ASME Section IX in at least 3 welding methods when needed. (SMAW, FCAW, GTAW, GMAW)
• Must know various piping applications
• Must know how to assemble carbon and stainless weld pipe and screw pipe.
• Must know how to use associated power tools te produce a quality product in a timely manner (grinder, saw, drill, plasma putter, drill press, break etc)
• Has the ability to multi-task
• Has the ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Skills and Abilities:
• 1 to 2 year diploma in welding or related instruction
• 4+ years experience in metal forming or in manufacturing or industrial setting
• Forklift certified
• Holds a valid driver's license
• OSHA 10 or greater
