Fuel Transfer Canal Shield (Cattlechute)

The Preferred Engineering Fuel Transfer Canal Shield (Cattlechute) provides shielding to the adjacent areas in the reactor building as fuel bundles are transferred through the fuel slot. Our Cattlechute system uses ASTM B29 compliant Lead (99.94% pure) to ensure maximum attenuation. Preferred Engineering’s Cattlechute is made of polished Stainless Steel with continuous welds to eliminate contamination traps and to provide for easy decontamination.
