Fuel Transfer System Upgrade 

Features: 

The Preferred Engineering Fuel Transfer System Upgrade provides a faster way to transport fuel from the Reactor Building to the Spent Fuel Building. This system uses a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) to drive the fuel transfer cart at Fast Speed during the traverse, then lowers the speed to Normal (default) Speed as it nears the end of travel and slows the cart down to a Docking speed just before the cart “docks” in the fuel up-ender mechanism at the end of the traverse. The control system includes both hard-wired relay logic for basic Start-Stop logic and a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) to control the selection of Fast, Normal or Docking speeds.
