Preferred Power Products brings together the best products across Preferred Utilities and its subsidiary Preferred Engineering to solve the vital power needs of your data center facility. Whether you are using backup diesel generators or are thinking ahead to smaller modular nuclear reactors, Preferred has you covered with a wide range of essential products.
-
CAN DATA CENTERS BE MORE SUSTAINABLE?
With the heavy demand placed on power grids by data centers, many countries are considering how to develop sustainable power options while also relieving pressure on local power grids.
-
KEEPING THE DATA FLOWING
Large data centers strive to meet the Uptime Institute’s “Tier-Standards,” specifying various levels of guaranteed data processing availability, reliability, and redundancy.
-
CRITICAL SYSTEM MAINTENANCE – IS MY FUEL DELIVERY SYSTEM READY FOR AN EMERGENCY?
The fuel oil delivery system supplies and constantly replenishes diesel fuel to the generator day tank(s).
-
IS THE FUEL SYSTEM CONTROLLER THE RIGHT CHOICE FOR YOUR CRITICAL APPLICATIONS?
An FSC provides redundancy and a central point of contact for large systems
PRODUCT LINES FOR DATA CENTER OPERATIONS
- Generator Fuel Oil Delivery
- Small Modular Reactor (SMR)
-
GenSet Fuel Controller
This fuel tank controller incorporates Preferred’s decades of fuel handling experience into one easy-to-use controller designed specifically for generator base tanks.
-
Overfill Alarm Station
Designed to be located near the tank fill terminal to notify of a potential overfill. The system triggers a high level alarm that alerts the filling operator that the tank is filled to its capacity.
-
Tank Leak Sentry
Able to receive signals from eight different leak detectors. The leak sentry can differentiate between an oil or a water leak in a tank farm, a refinery, a chemical plant, oil field, or a data center.
-
Liquid Level Switch PLS-4
Used on fuel oil day tanks to control the addition of oil from remote pumps, and to alarm high and low levels.
-
Fuel Sentry Tank Gauge and Leak Detection System Model TG-EL-D4B
Designed for use with all fuel oils (No. 2 through No. 6), diesel, kerosene, jet, and most other petroleum products. Tank gauges are required by NFPA 30 Flammable and Combustible Liquids Code.
-
Feedwater Centers
Designed to control the surge tank, Deaerator (DA) tank, transfer pumps, and feedwater pumps (on-off or VSD) to improve water quality and feedwater system reliability.
-
The Preferred Cloud Platform
Three levels of secure remote monitoring, with alerts and updates to your mobile phone or computer.
-
Submersible Pump Set
Fully submersible pumps, Compact, direct drive units designed to work even when fully submerged in emergency situations. No. 2, No. 4, and diesel oils.
-
Automatic Fuel Oil Filtration Sets
Self-contained, fully automatic systems maintain the quality and purity of stored diesel fuel.
-
Fuel System Controller
The FSC-120 is a general purpose programmable logic controller for many applications. Fault Tolerant, Distributed Control designed specifically for this demanding task.
-
Thermopump Fuel Oil Transfer Pump and Heater Set
Provides the above ground oil storage tank and exposed suction and return lines with a re-circulating flow of warm oil.
-
Fuel Oil Transfer Pump and Day Tank Set
The Fuel Oil Transfer Pump and Day Tank packages include our UL approved series DT Day Tanks, supply and/or return pump(s), and a PLC-based control cabinet.
SMRs, or Small Modular Reactors, are smaller footprint nuclear reactors that are in active development in the US and globally. They are prefabricated, transported to a location, and installed onsite to provide a localized solution for data centers.
SMRs are being explored as a source of reliable, carbon-free power for Data Centers - a sustainable solution that can provide consistent baseload for stable onsite power. They will offer savings in cost and construction time and can be built in stages to match energy demand as it increases.
As with all nuclear plants, SMRs will require maintenance to ensure their safety and reliability. Planning today for the maintenance needs of tomorrow will save tons of time and money in the future. Include maintenance provisions in your SMR design and production.
Preferred Engineering designs and manufactures maintenance solutions for the future of SMRs. Take a look at our current products or reach out to our engineers to learn how to plan well for future maintenance needs.
